A Parent Guide is mailed to each camper home in early spring. The packing list and forms are available online in PDF format. All Warren campers are asked to return the Health Form and Health History forms to the Camp Center. These forms are available online in the forms/publications menu at the top of this page.
You are invited to join other campers who have arrived by car, and staff to play frisbee, hacky-sack or catch on Side Lawn (a field just outside our main lodge). Together, we wait for the buses to arrive. Upon arrival of the busses, we join together for a large group welcoming by the Camp Director, who will then introduce you to the rest of the staff and your cabinmates.

Then when we get there...
Camp Warren staff will greet each bus with a long line of cheering , clapping and rowdy-good-time energy.

Yes! You choose what activities you want to do for the entire session. Sailing, photography, canoeing, wilderness exploration, team building, kayaking, arts and crafts, windsurfing and fishing are activities all campers can choose from. Some activities, like Horse Camp, require sign up prior to the beginning of session to participate due to limited space.
On the first day of camp, all campers will see skit-style anncounements of all activities and then will write a list of six choices for their activities that session. Each camper will have four activities and are guranteed their top two choices they list.
Yes! Come to Camp Warren with a friend. Almost half of Camp Warren campers come with a friend. The other half, come on their own and make friends while at Camp.
We are college age and junior/senior high school aged young men and women who love camp
Many of us have “grown up” at Warren as campers ourselves. Others have come to join the Warren community because they want to be camp counselors and get to know kids like you.
Warren Staff come from all over the world, England, Paraguay, The Netherlands and Canada, and many from the Twin Cities area and the Iron Range, where Camp Warren is located.
Staff attend an eight day training prior to the start of each summer camp season. All staff are certified in First Aid/CPR. In addition, all waterfront and trail staff are certified lifeguards and trail staff are certified in Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder.
The one thing all Warren staff have in common is there love of camp and kids. They are committed to a safe and fun summer in a community that is built upon the four core character values of the YMCA Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Camp Warren staff love to have fun! They are energetic, they sing goofy songs and lead awesome campfires. They love to teach kids, and learn from kids.
Warren Staff love the water--swimming, sailing, canoeing, early-morning polar bear swims and kayaking--just to name a few favorites!
Most of all, Camp Warren staff are thoughtful and have a lot of experience helping kids learn while at camp.
Hi. My name is Megan Cosgrove. I am the Camp Director at YMCA Camp Warren. What I like most about Camp Warren, is the community of caring campers and staff. We have a serious commitment to safety and fun. Warren is a place to find solace, find yourself, play, try new things and make friendships that last a lifetime. I am grateful to be part of this camp community.
See you on Half Moon Lake!
