2008 Family Camp Registration Form

Nestled in the North Woods on Half Moon Lake, Warren offers the perfect place for you and your family to reconnect and leave the hectic pace behind. Join us for a weekend of recreation and relaxation that helps your family develop a respect for nature.

Cabins

Cabins hold up to 12 people and include indoor bathrooms. We encourage families to share living spaces, but private cabins are available at an additional cost.

Activities at Family Camp

Activities include canoeing, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, rock climbing wall, swimming, archery, horseback riding, tennis, arts and crafts, athletic field games and sauna. "Kid time" in the morning allows all children an opportunity to explore camp with our staff. Adults and parents have the option to spend time with their kids or on their own. Adults can enjoy open/free time exploring camp, trying out camp activities or touring with staff.

Fees

Fees are paid per person attending. Private cabins are available for an additional fee.

Cost includes 3 nights, 9 meals, snacks and activites.
13 years and up $165
2-12 years  $80
Under 2 Always free!
Private Cabins $670 for up to four people.
Each additional person pays fees above.

Assistance is available for all YMCA camping programs. Call 612-822-CAMP for details.

Registration

To assure a spot for 2008, we suggest that you register early as cabins fill on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive confirmation of your registration by mail. Your packing list and a map will be mailed to you one month prior to your session.  The balance is due three weeks prior to camp.

Fall Camp at Camp Warren

Fall Camp Dates for Next Year: October 16-19, 2008

You hear that? That’s the sound of the beautiful north woods at Camp Warren, calling you back.

We invite you to spend a long, autumn weekend with other Warren campers and your favorite summer staff for MEA /Fall Camp in October. Participate in traditional camp activities such as canoeing, fishing, archery, crafts, wilderness exploration, all camp games and pumpkin carving.

Fee includes round trip bus transportation from REI in Bloomington (located at 494 and Lyndale Ave.)

Further information about Fall Camp will be posted late in the summer of 2008.

Winter Camp at Camp Warren


Winter Camp Dates for Next Year: December 27-30, 2008

Come back to the north country and experience our thrilling winter wonderland. 

Join your friends and the Camp Warren staff as we get together for a program-packed celebration of winter. There will be snowshoeing, broomball, the Warren Winter Obstacle Course, snow sculptures, quinzhee hut building, wilderness exploration, campfires, a hike to Lost Lake and of course, LOTS of hot chocolate.

Fee includes round trip transportation from REI in Bloomington (located at 494 and Lyndale Ave.)

Bus Schedule (applies to 2007 Winter Camp)

To Camp: December 27th 

Bus departs REI in Bloomington at 8:30 a.m.
Check-in starts at 8:00 a.m. 

From Camp: December 30th

 Bus returns REI in Bloomington   at 4:00 p.m.

Meeting and Dining

The Dining Hall, Silha Center for Outdoor Discovery and Cub Lodge are all wonderful havens for relaxing and recreating. The rustic Dining Hall and Cub Lodge are excellent locations for large or small group meetings. The Silha Center can comfortably accommodate up to 20 people for a meeting.

We are happy to cook nutritious meals in our Dining Hall for groups of 10 or more. Vegetarian options are available upon request. The Silha Center has a kitchen and is ideal for gatherings of 20 or fewer people who wish to bring and prepare their own food.

Lodging

Camp Warren can host up to 160 people during the warm months (May-September) and 60 people during the winter months (October-April).

Cabins accommodate 12 people and are equipped with a full bathroom, bunk beds and fireplace. Cabins also have a small table in them for playing cards and other games.

The Silha Center for Outdoor Discovery can accommodate up to 18 people in it's two sleeping rooms. Silha also has a small kitchen as well as a sitting room with a fireplace.

Skiing at Giant's Ridge

Camp Warren is a great place to stay when skiing at Giant's Ridge Ski Resort! We are able to provide meals and lodging at very reasonable rates along with discounted lift ticket prices at Giant's Ridge (the same rates as the Sports Dorm at the resort). We are located a short 30 minute drive from the ski resort. Staying with Camp Warren is a great spot for church retreats, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, school clubs and high school alpine and nordic ski teams.
